Brasserie d'Achouffe
Brasseria D'Achouffe en a brewery in the Belgian Ardennesfounded by Pierre Gobron and his brother-in-law Chris Bauweraerts, who started home brewing in their garage in the late 1970s. In 1982 they started producing beer professionally on a budget of less than five thousand euros. Their first beer, La Chouffe Blonde, was such a success that it enabled them to buy the small farm where they brewed.
In 2006, the Belgian brewing group Duvel Moortgat acquired Brasseria D'Achouffe. The red-capped gnomewhich appears on all the labels of its beers is known worldwide, and Chouffe beers are exported to more than 40 countries all over the world.
