Delirium Tremens is a well-known Belgian Strong Ale brewed by blending three different types of yeast. It has a pale yellow colour with golden highlights and a fine, persistent head. Its aroma has malty and spicy notes. On the palate it is a warm and robust beer with a fruity and balsamic background. Long, dry and bitter finish. 8,5% alc/vol.
Brouwerij Huyghe was founded in 1906, when Leon Huyghe bought a brewery in the town of Melle. In 1936 a new brewery complex was built and in 1938 the brewery changed its name to PVBA Leon Huyghe. Huyghe's flagship Delirium Tremens was first released on 26 December 1988. This beer is well known for its distinctive ceramic bottle and the pink elephant in its logo. It has also received numerous awards over the years at prestigious beer festivals and competitions.
